Expert Tips for Students

ello Dear IGNOU Students,

I noticed that many students are worried about the preparation of IGNOU Tutor Marks Assignments and submission many are confused about the last date of assignment submission and selecting the correct session of the assignment.

Indira Gandhi National Open University– IGNOU” is a National Open University of India and offered big range of courses under distance education system. Here student takes admission and study from home and takes weekly classes.
This allow the working people to add one more additional qualification to their profile. This is best opportunity for their promotion and career enhancement.

The notable thing is that IGNOU has two Admission Sessions.

First- July Admission Session:

Those who takes admission in July session appear for exam in next year May and June month.

Suppose you take Admission in July 2019 than your Exams will be in May-June 2020. “Hence your Session will be – July 2019 – June 2020 for the particular year”.

Second- January Admission Session:

This is the second admission cycle which you can say Calendar Year Session, Means Admission and Exams happens in the same Year. Suppose you take Admission in JAN 2020 than you exam falls Due in DECEMBER 2020, Hence your session will be ”JAN-2020 to DEC-2020”.

I believe now you got an Idea how the admission cycle works and what is your session. Coming to the next point which is most important, that is Ignou Assignment Submission.

Exams are conducted two times in a year May-June & December-Jan

Assignment Work are to submit before every exam, For May-June exams the last date to Submit TMA work by 31-March and For December Exam you must submit TMA by 30 September.

if your admission session is July 2019′ you should submit Assignment by: 31st March 2020

if your admission session is Jan 2020′ you should submit Assignments by: 30th September 2020

Now the question is, Which Assignment you need to Submit?

Assignments are uploaded by IGNOU on the website every year. One Session assignments work are submitted for both JULY & JANUARY Admission Session.

For the example, if you have taken admission or you have cleared exam and promoted to next year of the course in July 2019 then you need to Submit the Ignou assignment for session 2019-20, And if you have taken admission in Jan 2020 then also you need to Submit the same assignment work for the session 2019-20.

JULY SESSION Means- Your Course Started in the Month of July.
JANUARY SESSION Means- Your Course Started in January.

Both the Session has the Same Tutor Marks Assignment. However students need to submit before the exam of the particular session as per the deadline.
